SAS Welcome

Welcome to the Swiss American Society of Atlanta

The main purposes of our Swiss American Society of Atlanta are:

• to cultivate social life among the Swiss and friends of Switzerland in the area of Atlanta,
• to help preserve the social and cultural heritage,
• and to promote respect and friendship between Switzerland and the United States of America.

What better way to do so than by organizing regular social events!

In a typical SAS year we

• have a picnic, hike, or brunch in spring
• celebrate of course our National Day around the 1st of August
• share the joy of the season at a Christmas Party
• treat our children to a visit by Samichlaus
• Enjoy a real Swiss Fondue night in the winter
• take care of our business at the General Assembly in March
• organize monthly Ladies Luncheons with visits to exhibitions and museums

At all of these events you will meet other Swiss people and make new friends.

We look forward to seeing you!

Guido Walther

Upcomming Events

Save the date: July 28, 2018

Summer is here, which means time draws near for our annual Swiss National Day Celebration! We will be celebrating a few days early, on July 28th at the Riverside lodge in Roswell. This year we will have a large pool complete with diving board and shallow end for the little ones, so make sure you bring the family! We will send out an invitation later but wanted to let you know to save that date!

Also, just like we announced during the General Assembly, we will start asking you for some help with tasks around the events. Right now, we’re looking for the following:

- we’re looking for somebody who has a vehicle large enough to transport a 5ft grill (enough to grill for 100 people), as well as for somebody who has such a grill or is willing to look into where to rent one. Please respond directly to

- We would appreciate some help in setting up for the 1st August event. We will start setting up at 2:30pm, but appreciate help at a later time as well. The event starts at 5:30pm and we’re normally done with setup by 5pm. If you can help, please reply to this email.

- We’re looking for somebody to write a small article about the Swiss Club. This would be used for publication in places like the Swiss revue (quarterly for the Swiss abroad), SAS website/facebook or other places. It can be a general article about the events and the life of the club, but it can also focus on the 1st August or some other event. If you think you could do this, please reply to this email as well.

Thank you so much for your participation!

We’re looking forward to celebrating with you soon!
