Dear SAS Members,
With the upcoming General Assembly we will bring an exciting SAS year 2006-07 to a close.
It will also mark the end of my presidency of three years and of course the new beginning under the leadership of a new president to be elected.
In an attempt to make the annual meeting a highlight in the Club year, an evening to celebrate the friendship among the many members, in other words a “must attend” party, the Board has decided to make it a memorable event in an extraordinary setting - at the Carter Center.
If you have never been to this major attraction for Atlanta you will not want to miss the opportunity for an optional tour through The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, one of twelve national presidential libraries. An exact replica of the Oval Office and many exhibits will transport you directly to the White House!
It is perfectly fine to join us just for the meeting and dinner, but remember - we count on you!
****************
It has only been a few weeks since the last Update, so there is not a lot to comment on this time. However I would certainly like to take the opportunity to thank all the Board Members and volunteers who made the Fondue Night another success. Garden Hills Pavilion is truly a perfect Fondue place, and the 80 members present enjoyed the cheesy delight and the high spirits. A big thank you also goes to our Consul General Ulrich Hunn and his wife Marie-Claire who very generously offered Swiss wine for the aperitif.
Speaking of wine
If you too would like to serve a glass of Fendant with your next Fondue or Raclette you might want to check out Swiss Cellars in Wisconsin at www.swisscellar.com. Importeur Lauren Crolla offers a wide variety of Swiss wine, beer, and spirits at reasonable prices. Shipping is +/- $ 35 per case of 12 (can be a selection of bottles). Please regard this as a helpful tip and not as a promotion for Swiss Cellars…
New Members
A warm welcome goes to our former treasurer Inge Boehni, Roswell, who re-joined the Club after a break of a couple of years, and to Robert Gebhardt, Atlanta, as a brand new member.
On a personal note
Since this is the last SAS Update from my desk I would like to thank you for your friendship and support I experienced during the past few years. Serving as your Club’s President has been both an honor and a pleasure, and I will take unforgettable memories with me. I will keep Georgia and SAS on my mind!
